The Drifta is a mobile TV decoder that recieves DVB-H signal and converts it into a Wi-Fi signal for Wi-Fi enabled viewing devices: laptops, PCs, tablets and smartphones.
For the product to work it must be within DVB-H coverage.

Installation and Usage
CONNECTING TO A PC
DStv Mobile can be accessed using the Drifta mobile decoder that is compatible with PCs. The Drifta receives DVB-H mobile broadcast signal and transmits it to your PC via a Wi-Fi network.

Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: 32 Bit or 64 Bit
Minimum Memory: 512MB
Minimum Disk Space: 100 MB

Installing the Application
1. Insert the Drifta Application CD and run the Windows setup application. Complete the installation
2. Press the power button on the Drifta. Wait for the DVB-H light to go steady green. (This may take up to 3 minutes when starting the Drifta for the first time).
3. Extend and position the antenna vertically.
4. Connect the Drifta to the PC with a USB Cable.
Watching TV
Launch the Drifta client application on your PC. The application will perform a channel scan and start playing Mobile TV.
Clicking the schedule icon will display all available channels and their schedules. Clicking a channel in the schedule will display the channels schedule. Double clicking a channel will start broadcasting the channel. You can also change channels by using the left and right buttons on the player screen.
CONNECTING TO IOS (IPHONE, IPOD TOUCH AND IPAD)
The Drifta also allows you to watch Mobile TV on your iPhone, iPod or iPad touch. The Drifta receives DVB-H mobile broadcast signal and transmits it to your iPhone, iPod or iPad touch via a Wi-Fi network.
System Requirements
iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS version 4 or higher.
Installing the Application
In the App Store, on your iOS device or through iTunes on your computer, search for “DStv Mobile Decoder”. An application from MultiChoice will appear in your search results.Install this application, either directly on your device, or by downloading it to iTunes on your computer then syncing your iOS device.
Connecting the Drifta DStv Mobile Decoder
Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your iOS device. Press the power button on the Drifta. Wait for the DVB-H light to go steady green. (This may take up to 3 minutes when starting the decoder for the first time). Extend and position the antenna vertically.
Watching TV
Launch the Drifta application on your iOS device.
When connecting a decoder for the first time, a list of Wi-Fi devices IDs is displayed. Select the device ID that corresponds to your Drifta. The devices will then pair.
A list of channels will then be displayed. To start watching, simply select your channel of choice. Selecting the ‘more’ button corresponding to a channel will display the channels schedule for the next 24 hours.

It is currently not possible to get the Drifta to work via the internet just as your normal DSTV cannot stream via the internet. However, the Drifta is still a worthy tool to have as you can use it when you travel to areas with Drifta network coverage.
Hopefully, Drifta network signals would be coming to your neighborhood soon.
